The Mir Telecom


Mir Telecom Limited is the flagship telecom operation of Mir Group of Companies, one of the leading conglomerates of Bangladesh.

It is the first International Gateway Operator of Bangladesh and came into operation on 21st August 2008 after being awarded the International Gateway License by Bangladesh Telecom Regulatory Commission through a competitive auction in February 2008.

The company offers 100% CLI termination and origination of Bangladesh traffic and also for other destinations around the world. Currently the company has direct bilateral interconnects with 229 major incumbent, Tier1 and Tier2 operators and calling card companies in Asia, Europe, North America and Oceania dealing in more than 350 million minutes a month. The company has 5 PoPs strategically located in Epsilon, London; Equinix, Singapore; STIX Singapore and 1 Wilshire Boulevard Los Angeles, USA making Mir Telecom the widest International Gateway Operator of Bangladesh. Mir Telecom is the only International Gateway Operator of the country providing Satellite backup through Intelsat via both TDM and IP connectivity to customers along with connectivity via SEA ME WE4 submarine cable system.

Our Roots


  • 1968

    Mir Group started its journey with Mir Akhter Hossain & Co. formed as a Partnership Firm with commitment to create a footprint in the construction industry.

  • 1980

    Later, Mir Akhter Hossain & Co was converted into a private limited company (PLC), to excel its growth in operations and uphold the image and reputation.

  • 2003 - 2006

    The Mir Group diversified into Cement, Concrete Products, Ceramics and Real Estate businesses to complement its fundamental busienss and to foster group business growth.

  • 2007

    The Mir Group, with the vision of reaching out to the nation with the mark of excellence stepped into the Telecom Sector, by establishing and registering the company-Mir Telecom; a new feather is added to the group's cap.

  • 19 February 2008

    Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) awarded International Gateway (IGW) License to Mir Telecom to terminate international voice calls to and from Bangladesh on 19th February 2008. Mir Telecom had gone through a non-stop 26-hour tendering process among 31 competing companies and now has the pride of being one of the three International Gateway (IGW) licensees.

  • 21 August 2008

    A new era has emerged in the Bangladesh telecommunications sector, as the country embarks on the fast-track to liberalize international telecommunications access. The commercial operation of Mir Telecom was inaugurated on 21st August 2008 and thus another milestone was created.
